Fixing Compression Artifacts
Fixing Compression Artifacts
Compression Artifacts are the blocky distortions you can often see in images. They can be created by certain file types as they try to decrease the amount of storage space an image/video takes by sacrificing image quality. These file types are often called "lossy" or have "lossy compression". An image that does not lose data when compressed or that do not compress at all are called "lossless" or have "lossless compression". In a production environment you should strive to work exclusively with lossless files.
